Dan Rocha

Founding/Managing Partner

Dan Rocha brings over 30 years of experience as a teacher, coach, senior administrator, and fundraiser in independent schools and higher education. His career began with nine years of teaching and coaching in the Philadelphia area, followed by his first administrative role as Middle School Head at Bancroft School in Worcester, MA. At Montclair Kimberley Academy in New Jersey, Dan led the Middle School to U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School of Excellence status, with special recognition for its Ethics and Character program.

Dan’s career continued as Head of School at York Country Day School in York, PA, where he increased enrollment and more than doubled annual giving in his first year. He then served as Academic Dean at Moses Brown School in Providence, RI, where he was named Rhode Island State Girls’ Coach of the Year in 2007.

In higher education, Dan held leadership roles, including Senior Director of Athletic Development at George Washington University, where he led a $21 million renovation of the intercollegiate athletic center and built annual giving programs for all 22 intercollegiate sports. Most recently, as Executive Director of Development for Athletics at the University of Pennsylvania, he led a fundraising team that raised $15 million in one year for intercollegiate athletics.

Dan has also served as Interim Head of School at Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, PA. He is an active contributor to the educational community, having served on the boards of St. Peter’s School in Philadelphia and St. Philip’s Academy in Newark, NJ. He was a member of the National Association of Independent Schools’ Call to Action for diversity initiatives, a presenter at NAIS conferences, and has been published in Education Week.

Dan holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Temple University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Frank Farrell

VP Catholic School Practice

Frank Farrell brings more than 30 years of experience as an educator and administrator in both schools and nonprofit organizations. After serving as a Senior Consultant with Cardenio Consulting, Frank was named Vice President of the firm’s Catholic School Practice, where he leads strategic initiatives to strengthen and support Catholic education across the country.

Frank began his career in elementary education and nonprofit youth programming before spending over two decades in higher education, where he gained deep expertise in enrollment management, development, curriculum planning, and facilities strategy. Immediately prior to joining Cardenio, Frank served as President of an all-girls Catholic high school and as Director of Scholarships and Financial Aid for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

A forward-thinking leader, Frank has long been at the forefront of educational technology and innovation, with a consistent focus on enhancing the student experience across all levels of education. He has presented at national NCEA conferences on technology integration and has contributed to the work of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops as a member of its Peace and Justice Advisory Board.

Frank has served on numerous academic and nonprofit boards—local, regional, and national—and has successfully guided institutions through Middle States accreditation at the elementary, secondary, and higher education levels. He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from La Salle University in Philadelphia.

Ted Sharp

Strategic Advisor

Cardenio Consulting is proud to count Ted Sharp among the members of its School Acquisition Team. With a career spanning more than four decades, Ted is an accomplished educational leader with experience in both public and private schools across the United States, South America, and China.

Ted has served as Head of School on four occasions—domestically and internationally—and twice as Superintendent in Maine public school districts. His extensive leadership experience also includes roles with the U.S. Department of Education, where he worked on the staff of the Secretary of Education, and as Assistant Dean at Boston University’s School of Education.

Ted holds a bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College and a master’s degree from Bridgewater State College. He has pursued advanced graduate studies in Educational Administration at Harvard University and additional graduate work at Oxford University in the United Kingdom.

A lifelong educator, Ted currently teaches graduate courses at Framingham State University in the International Master’s Degree Program, covering topics such as School Law, School Finance, Curriculum, Educational Leadership, and Philosophy. In December, he will return from Beijing to his home in Portland, Maine, where he lives with his wife, Sharon—when they are not traveling the globe.
